The Harry Potter saga introduced audiences to the iconic Golden Trio: Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger. And at the same time, the fantasy series made fans care and connect with several side characters. Harry Potter created a detailed world full of original characters, with their own stories and motivations. And while supporting characters like Albus Dumbledore, Sirus Black, or even Severus Snape, had some development in the series, fans believe other characters deserve their own story.

Characters like Remus Lupin, Oliver Wood, or Rubeus Hagrid have intriguing and compelling stories of their own. These spin-offs would make the magical world of Harry Potter even richer. And for some of these characters, their spin-offs could shed more light on magical creatures, Wizarding legends, and even the exciting world of magical sports.

10 Remus Lupin

Remus Lupin is a fan-favorite character in the Harry Potter franchise. Even though fans of Harry Potter already know Lupin's fate in the saga, a spin-off for his character could shed light on his past. Werewolf Fenrir Greyback bit a young Remus Lupin as retaliation after Lupin's father insulted the werewolf community.

A spin-off centering on Remus Lupin could explore his childhood and family before and after turning into a werewolf. Many Harry Potter fans would love to see how Lupin navigated his new life and first years at Hogwarts. After befriending James Potter, Sirius Black, and Peter Pettigrew, the spin-off could explore part of the Marauder's time at Hogwarts through Lupin's experience of acceptance and first real friendships.

9 Sybill Trelawney

Sybill Trelawney didn't get the recognition she deserved in the Harry Potter saga. Characters like Hermione and Professor McGonagall mocked her abilities and discredited her talents. Yet fans know Trelawney was the one that gave the prophecy that sealed Harry Potter's destiny.

Professor Trelawney might exaggerate her divination skills, but Sybill proved she's a true Seer. A spin-off focusing on Trelawney's formative years and her family's history could expand on the misunderstood branch of magic that is Divination. And this spin-off could also give audiences more insight into the fateful night when Sybill Trelawney gave Dumbledore the famed prophecy.

8 Luna Lovegood

Luna Lovegood from Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Luna Lovegood proved to be a loyal ally to Harry during their time at Hogwarts. She's a trustworthy and dependable friend to everyone, even if some still misunderstand her. Luna's quirky personality could be confusing to a few of her classmates who would tease her for her odd beliefs. Yet Luna never let that change who she was.

A Luna Lovegood spin-off would be interesting and visually appealing. After the Second Wizarding War, Luna Lovegood became a Magizoologist and discovered many magical species. According to Pottermore, Luna later marries Newt Scamander's grandson, which could also connect her spin-off to the Fantastic Beasts movie series.

7 Neville Longbottom

Neville Longbottom is an iconic side character in the Harry Potter series. And right at the end of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, readers get a brief mention of Neville Longbottom's fate after the Second Wizarding War. Ginny's and Harry's son James mentions Neville is now the Herbology Professor at Hogwarts.

While this may not seem like a perfect setting for a spin-off, seeing Neville's personal journey after killing Nagini could make for a great story. In the Harry Potter books and movies, Neville is shy and lacks confidence. Yet after defeating Voldemort, Neville is confident enough to stand in front of a class and teach, which is no small feat.

6 Godric Gryffindor

A story about the Hogwarts founders is something that Harry Potter fans have been longing for. And while all the founders are interesting, it's Godric Gryffindor the one that plays the biggest role in the saga. It's Gryffindor's sword that kills the basilisk in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. And it's Gryffindor's sword as well the one Neville wields when killing Nagini.

A spin-off centering on Godric Gryffindor's story and time before and after founding Hogwarts could be fascinating. It could expand on the history of the Wizarding world and the beginnings of such an iconic school. And his rivalry with Salazar Slytherin could give a dark edge to the spin-off.

5 Rubeus Hagrid

Rubeus Hagrid is a beloved character in Harry Potter. Hagrid is the first one to introduce Harry to the Wizarding world and is always there to help and protect him. Hagrid's connection with Harry is strong, and it would be interesting to see his fate after the Second Wizarding War.

Rubeus Hagrid is also a half-giant. In Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Hagrid finds out he has a giant half-brother named Grawp. A spin-off could expand further on this relationship and the giants in the magical world, as not much is known about them.

4 The Grey Lady (Helena Ravenclaw)

Helena Ravenclaw aka The Grey Lady in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2

The Grey Lady is the Ravenclaw ghost at Hogwarts. And while not much is known about her at first, Harry eventually learns The Grey Lady is actually Helena Ravenclaw, daughter of one of Hogwarts' founders. Helena's relationship with her mother, Rowena Ravenclaw, is an important and intriguing part of the Harry Potter saga.

Helena Ravenclaw's spin-off could detail more about her life and encounter with Voldemort in Albania. One of Voldemort's Horcruxes was the lost Diadem of Ravenclaw, which Helena had stolen from Rowena. The spin-off could also follow Helena's history with the Bloody Baron, the ghost of Slytherin. The Bloody Baron was obsessed with Helena and killed her in a fit of rage after Helena refused to leave Albania with him.

3 George Weasley

The Weasley twins are some of the most iconic and beloved characters in the Harry Potter saga. George and Fred Weasley earned the fans' affection thanks to their unique sense of humor and outlandish inventions. And to the great sorrow of all fans, Fred Weasley dies during the Battle of Hogwarts.

A spin-off following George Weasley's life after the Second Wizarding War could be heartbreaking yet uplifting. The spin-off could explore George's grief and perseverance in the face of adversity. Fans know George marries Angelina Johnson and continues to run Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes in Diagon Alley. And a spin-off could give more detail into George's life and his much-deserved happy ending.

2 Oliver Wood

Oliver Wood served as Harry's mentor in everything Quidditch related. Wood was the captain of the Gryffindor Quidditch team until Harry's fifth year. And Oliver's passion for the sport was sometimes mocked, yet admired as well.

After leaving Hogwarts, Oliver Wood joined Puddlemere United. He returns to fight in the Battle of Hogwarts and survives, but not much is known about his fate afterward. A spin-off about Oliver Wood's career after the Second Wizarding War could be exciting and entertaining. Wood trying to become the greatest Quidditch player and maybe even competing in a World Cup could give fans a nice closure for his character.

1 Rose Weasley

Rose Weasley is the daughter of Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallow's epilogue, fans witness Rose catching the Hogwarts Express alongside Harry Potter and Ginny Weasley's sons. This could be the perfect start for her own spin-off.

While Harry Potter and the Cursed Child sees more of Rose Weasley's story, the play still follows Harry Potter and his son, Albus. However, Rose Weasley would be an interesting character for a spin-off. Having Hermione as her mother and Ron as her father, Rose would probably have the perfect mixture of intelligence and playfulness that would make her a compelling main character.
